Originally named Contrology, Pilates was developed in the 1920’s by Joseph Pilates. Pilates emphasizes the uniformed development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and body awareness in order to perform efficient, graceful movements. One of the most unique qualities of Pilates is how it works effectively for a wide range of people. Whether if you are an athlete, dancer, senior, pregnant, or just the average Joe, there is a place for you in Pilates.
